EMPIRE OF BARRAVAR

     The empire is a fairly large nation rich in coal, iron, and copper. It has a history of great warriors and tales of chivalrous knights. Barravar is a slightly backward nation it has yet to switch over to black powder weapons and cannon, instead it still relys heavily on it's knights and vast army of halberdiers. The most popular religions in the empire are Wölsung, the Father and the Mother. Barravar is ruled by Emperor Stannis Carvass II.

     Stendarr is the capitol of the empire and its second largest city. Sitting amongst rolling hills the is well spread out without a wall. Embassys from around the world fill the city and you can find most anyone from around the world if you look hard enough. Many say the city has just as many spys as it does dignitarys although the spies will tell you thats not true at all. Due to amount of different groups in the Stendarr it has a thriving black market where you can find just about anything you want.

      Veranarr ((where we'll be playing)) is the largest city in the nation with nearly a million people in the city during summer. Hundreds of ships fill the harbor year round and people from around the world find themselves passing through the city. Because of the influx of different people into the port city, the people of Veranarr are more progressive then the rest of Barravar. Hundreds of churchs vie for followers and you can find a shrine to a long forgotten god pretty much anywhere you look. It is said that the theives guild has broken into three pieces and thats it captains seek to bring the others under their control.

      Marrkarr & Marrkis are two large walled citys along the Steel peeks they block the two large northern highways leading into the Empire, both have a garrison of nearly 20,000 soldiers waiting for the day when Markath finally marches south to take the Empire in the name of the Red King. It's said the garrison commander in Marrkarr is looking to hire as many adventurers as he can although he's not telling anyone why he needs them. In Marrkis there have been sightings of monsters in the sewers and soon someone is going to have to go down there to figure out whats going on.

       Arravis is more fortress then city, with nearly half it's population either soldiers or mercenaries dedicated to fighting orc invaders from the west. Sitting along the trade route from Ulnar to Veranarr, the city is a place for merchants, drivers and animals to rest before heading the rest of the way to their destination. At the moment the citys teamsters are acting up saying that the new railway that Menkiel is trying to build will ruin them.

       Fort Barris one of nine forts along the border of the wildlands, the fort contains 500 soldiers dedicated to finding and stopping orcish raiders. This fort has a higher then usual number of half orcs and outcasts in general insides it's walls. A nearby village of half orcs and other humanoids sits under it's protection.

Although the fort sits on an open field it surrounded by forests on all sides. There are rumors that undead have been seen riding alongside the other side of the Grey River
